Thank you for
your interest! Most of the writing for Zamoof! is done in-house
or arranged directly by our office. For visiting writers, we do keep space open for
a few short stories in a year. We also have
a short piece in our Parent section that appears in each issue done
by guest writers. Presently, we've put a close on accepting short
stories as we are booked with writers three years in advance.
Please note the information below:

Residence: Unfortunately, we are only seeking Canadian
Writers as a part of our qualification for Canadian grants.
Submissions Seeking:
1) Short
Stories up to 1,200 words maximum for kids within the age
range of 8-13 years; At present, we are not taking in any more
submissions except for specific seasonal pieces that we might be
missing. As they become open, we'll list them here so please visit
again (updated Aug 1/08).
2) 'FEET UP' CHRONICLES: Short
narrative piece
written for our parent readers; 350 words maximum; 'Chicken Soup' type of a
theme about parenthood and raising a family that would either inspire, entertain or
has an emotional element to it that other parents can relate to; Especially seeking those based on a true
situation
Magazine Theme List:
Generally open as we are 84 pages. It
could be seasonal for the time of year the issue comes out and as
we are aware of what theme we are in need of, we'll post that here.
Next opening date:
Presently short story submissions are closed as we are booked quite
far in advance; 'FEET UP CHRONICLES' is open with only about a six
month waiting list.
